Slinky consists of a set of shell-scripts to create boot-media for REDHAT - Linux on the i386-platform. You can use it, if the native installer anaconda does not work due to limited hardware.
vum:BOX is an application using RULE/Slinky.
By now Slinky only uses the builtin US keybord mapping of the LINUX-Kernel. If you don't have an US keybord it can be very frustrating to find the right keys to enter "yes" or "/" or "-" or whatever is needed while installing.
